Have you watched American Idol or The Voice and thought, could I do that? Now is your chance to find out at the Collaboriative Peformance Class at Jennings Music.  Don't worry, Simon won't be here.  But you will have an instuctor and your peers (that's the collaboritive part) to improve your confidence, musicianship and performance.

This class invites adults to learn and improve the skills of performing in front of live audiences.  The instructor and the collaborative group will observe and critique vocal, instrumental or group performances to help students learn, refine and improve performance skills related to vocal or instrumental performance and stage presence. Students will also be encouraged to collaborate with other students to work in ensemble settings. Pre-formed ensembles are also welcome.

Week 1 - Come prepared to perform 1 piece to demonstrate current performance level.  Collaborate with Instructor and class to determine goals for the rest of the 4 week session. Instructor may recommend a new song to challenge individual or group.  Also, you may meet other students and form ensembles. (Ensembles may require collaboration outside of class).

Week 2 - Improve: Each student or ensemble will perform the assigned song and receive instruction to improve certain sections or aspects of the performance. Students may be interrupted and asked to repeat sections of the performance in front of the group to focus on areas of improvement.

Week 3 - Refine:Each student or ensemble will perform the assigned song and receive instruction to refine certain sections or aspects of the performance. Students may be interrupted and asked to repeat sections of the performance in front of the group to continue to refine focus areas.

Week 4 - Perform: Each student or ensemble will perform the assigned song as a performance. Student will receive final recommendations for performance of the individual piece or overall stage performance.  Goals and new songs will be discussed for next 4 week session.
