- Education: Emily received her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance (Cum Laude) from Kennesaw State University in the Spring of 2016. While there, she studied with Valerie Walters, an accomplished performer, diction coach, and pedagogue. Emily has worked with world renowned opera singers Sherrill Milnes, Leah Partridge, and Barbara Daniels. Emily was selected to attend the International Performing Arts Institute in Kiefersfelden, Germany the Summer of 2015. In Germany, Emily worked with Kerry Deal and Michael Strauss of the Boston Conservatory, among other distinguished artists and coaches.
- Experience: Emily has performed several leading opera roles, oratorio, and recital art songs throughout her time as a student and professional. Her most recent performances include gala roles as Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro and Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (2016); she was the soprano soloist for Mozart’s Coronation Mass (2016), and performed the Mezzo-soprano role of Mother in The Three Hermits (2015). Emily has performed various oratorio as the soloist for Vivaldi’s Gloria, Handel’s Messiah, and Raymond Torres-Santos’ Requiem. Emily performed leading soprano role, Tallulah Carter, in Pasatieri’s Hotel Casablanca and was awarded second place at the National Opera Association, Division I (2016). She has completed extensive academic recitals, tutored diction (German, French, Italian, and English IPA), as well as vocal pedagogy. Emily plans to continue her career with graduate and post-graduate studies, while maintaining her vocal studio and freelance career.
- Objective: With a background in classical technique, Emily focuses on a natural and apt approach for each student’s individual needs. A strong vocal technique is paramount in every genre for singers to reach their full potential of range, skill, and talent. Emily intends to help students not only open their voice, but also their minds by presenting new insights to various types of classical music and other desired genres that may not have been accessible to them before. She finds the uniqueness of each individual voice and personality fascinating, and it is her passion to help students find their voice and themselves through a fun, energetic, and academic environment.
